The 2017 edition of the Mary Frances Picciano Dietary Supplement Research Practicum is now available to view as an online course. Watch any or all of the 21 presentations from this intensive 2.5-day training by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS)---- when and where you choose.
The ODS practicum, offered annually, provides a thorough overview and grounding on issues, concepts, and controversies about dietary supplements and supplement ingredients. The presentations emphasize the importance of scientific investigations to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and value of these products for health promotion and disease prevention---- and how to carry out this type of research.
Practicum faculty consists of experts who study, advocate, regulate, or educate about dietary supplements, including those from NIH, academic institutions, federal regulatory agencies, as well as stakeholders in the dietary supplement industry, consumer advocacy groups, and the media.
